This Friday, Oct. 4th, is Guilford’s next school spirit day – Diversity Day. Students are encouraged to wear things to celebrate their culture/heritage. For example, Irish heritage could be wearing green and items with shamrocks OR wearing a shirt with the flag of Ireland. It could be wearing the colors of that country’s flag, wearing clothing that represents a country, etc.
This Saturday, Oct. 5th is our community yard sale at Guilford! Spaces are still available – $10 for a yard sale space or $20 if you are a vendor or small business. Set up begins at 8:30am and the yard sale starts at 9am. You can still reserve your space by sending in the form that was sent home along with payment. Also this Saturday – if you ordered mums during our fall fundraiser, they will be delivered to the school in the morning by 8am.
Next Monday, Oct. 7th is restaurant night at Coal Fire Pizza! This fundraiser lasts all day, 11:30am to 10pm, so you can even pop in for lunch! Coal Fire will donate 20% of sales with our flyer back to our PTA. The flyer can be printed out from our website!

The health room needs a hand this week! Can you help at school for a couple hours on Thursday? Our younger students will be going to vision and hearing screenings and we could use a volunteer in the morning (9:30am-12:30pm) or in the afterrnoon (1:30pm-3:15pm) escorting students to and from their classrooms.
You should have received a flyer home for our community yard sale coming up Saturday 10/5. Make sure to send the bottom part and payment in to school to reserve your space.
Minutes from our first general membership PTA meeting of this school year are now available on this website under our “Resources” tab, as well as minutes from past meetings.

Planning on getting some spring cleaning done over our spring break? DON’T THROW IT ALL OUT!! Join us on Saturday May 4th in the Guilford parking lot for a community yard sale! Each yard sale space is the size of a standard parking space in the lot and costs $15 to reserve. The flyer to reserve spaces is attached to this post if you can’t find yours. Simply fill out the bottom portion and return with your payment and come turn your household goods, clothes, etc. into cash! Even better…if you don’t feel like hauling what you didn’t sell back home, Guilford participates in the Clothing to Cash program. All textiles (clothes, sheets, bedding), shoes, and stuffed animals can be dropped in the white bin in the side parking lot and our school gets paid by the pound for donations!!
Join us at Ridgely’s Run Community Center on Friday April 12th at 7pm for a

Our PTA sponsors a ROAR cart for our students! It’s a fun way for students to spend their hard-earned ROAR tickets and turn their ROAR behaviors into rewards. This year, ROAR cart will visit each grade (K-5) twelve times over the school year. There are only three more ROAR cart visits coming up for each grade, and we need volunteers to make it happen! If you have flexibility in your schedule in the morning, please consider signing up. Students really look forward to seeing the goodies on the cart, and it really is a wonderful way to get to know our students!
Thank you to everyone who helped make Raise Craze a success! We blew away our $3,500 goal, keeping $3,893.40!! We couldn’t have done it without such a supportive parent and teacher community. Thanks also to everyone who volunteered their time throughout the fundraiser, especially helping out to make our first ever Evening of Kindness a blast! Mr. Davis kept up his end of the deal and dressed as a penguin for a day, showing how cool it is to be kind!
