What We Do

Welcome to the home of the Guilford Elementary School PTA!  As a local chapter of Maryland PTA, we strive to support Guilford Elementary School, its staff, students, and families, through effective communication, educational programming, and family involvement activities.

Our goals are:

  • To strengthen communication between staff, families, and students.
  • To increase family involvement throughout the school year with a variety of fun events and parent education workshops designed with our diverse community in mind.
  • To support Guilford’s staff through our Staff Appreciation Committee and classroom volunteer coordinators.  Additionally, we will support school events by coordinating volunteer efforts whenever needed.

Our meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm in the Media Center.

Who We Are

The Guilford Elementary School PTA is a group of parents and teachers committed to supporting our children and students be the best that they can be!  Guilford PTA provides information and resources through family programs and family meetings, and sponsors fun in-school events and fundraisers.  View our current year committee information here.

Why PTA?

Research has shown that children of involved families do better in school and on standardized tests, have fewer behavioral problems, and are less likely to abuse drugs or alcohol.  Children learn more when families, school staff, and the community work together.  Being a member of our PTA provides opportunities to get to know school staff members, to learn more about how the school operates, and to build relationships with other Guilford parents. As members of the Maryland PTA and National PTA, we are part of oldest and largest child advocacy association in America!
