Planning on getting some spring cleaning done over our spring break? DON’T THROW IT ALL OUT!! Join us on Saturday May 4th in the Guilford parking lot for a community yard sale! Each yard sale space is the size of a standard parking space in the lot and costs $15 to reserve. The flyer to reserve spaces is attached to this post if you can’t find yours. Simply fill out the bottom portion and return with your payment and come turn your household goods, clothes, etc. into cash! Even better…if you don’t feel like hauling what you didn’t sell back home, Guilford participates in the Clothing to Cash program. All textiles (clothes, sheets, bedding), shoes, and stuffed animals can be dropped in the white bin in the side parking lot and our school gets paid by the pound for donations!!
Join us at Ridgely’s Run Community Center on Friday April 12th at 7pm for a
concert presented by The Magical Mystery Girls, an All-Female Beatles Tribute
Band, featuring Guilford’s own Mrs. McDaniel!
Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Guilford’s PTA.
Pre-sale tickets are available to Guilford families beginning Wednesday 3/20 and
go on sale to the public on Friday 3/29.
Ticket quantities are LIMITED and MUST be purchased in advance at:

Our PTA sponsors a ROAR cart for our students! It’s a fun way for students to spend their hard-earned ROAR tickets and turn their ROAR behaviors into rewards. This year, ROAR cart will visit each grade (K-5) twelve times over the school year. There are only three more ROAR cart visits coming up for each grade, and we need volunteers to make it happen! If you have flexibility in your schedule in the morning, please consider signing up. Students really look forward to seeing the goodies on the cart, and it really is a wonderful way to get to know our students!
Thank you to everyone who helped make Raise Craze a success! We blew away our $3,500 goal, keeping $3,893.40!! We couldn’t have done it without such a supportive parent and teacher community. Thanks also to everyone who volunteered their time throughout the fundraiser, especially helping out to make our first ever Evening of Kindness a blast! Mr. Davis kept up his end of the deal and dressed as a penguin for a day, showing how cool it is to be kind!
Our biggest fundraiser of the year, Raise Craze, kicks off this week! Join us as we raise
money for PTA school support and make an impact in our community!! Raise Craze Overview

THANK YOU for supporting our restaurant nights at Pie Five in September and Red Robin in October! Both nights were a huge success, and our Red Robin night was the most successful restaurant night fundraiser so far, raising almost $275 for PTA! We hope you enjoy the opportunity to build community with other families outside of school while giving back to our Guilford family!
Join us at our PTA meeting on October 9th, 6:30-8:00pm in the media center. The first portion of the meeting we will hear from the administration and PTA board members, and the second portion of the meeting will be dedicated to a fundraising discussion! Childcare will be provided; if you are able, we are requesting a donation of $2/family to offset some of PTA’s expense for childcare.
Want a night off from cooking dinner? PTA has arranged a restaurant night with Pie Five located at 6455 Dobbin Road, Suite 32, Columbia, MD 21045.
A flyer should have come home with your student last week with all the details. If you forget your flyer, it’s OK! Just mention Guilford Elementary School to the cashier and Pie Five will donate 20% of our net sales between 5-9pm on Tuesday 9/18/18.
It’s an easy and fun way to support Guilford’s PTA and we hope to see you there!
